Journal kept by Charles Ambrose Allen during a voyage to Australia on RMS Orient. The journal begins with Allen's embarkation at at Royal Albert Dock on Mar. 31, 1886, and describes daily life on board the Orient (which carried 1200 passengers and 300 crew) and visits to Naples, Port Said, Suez and the island of Diego Garcia. The journal ends at Adelaide on 13 May 1886.
